色の組み合わせで緑色と白色は実に相性が良い。モダンでシンプルで色彩が過剰にならず、しかも深いイメージを与えてくれる。こだわって描きたいのは蓮の葉っぱのきめ細かさ。そこに降り注ぐ光と影。
そのビロードのような表面に露が流れ落ち、まるで自分の折々のためらいや心の震えに呼応するような蓮のしぐさにハッとする時、身を置く現代からすっと離れて遥かな空間を漂流しているような気がする。
Green and white are extremely compatible with one another. These modern and simple colours never become indulgent. They provide my paintings with depth.
What I want to paint are the details on the lotus leaves and the light and shadow that fall upon them.
Each time when the lotuses move in response to the dew drops that fall onto their velvet-like surface, I feel a little jolt in myself: as if these movements resonate with my own occasional hesitations or the trembles of my heart. At those times I feel like my body is drifting away into a distant realm.
