2007年彫刻家の麻谷宏氏と京都ギャラリー恵風での二人展で共同制作したもの。
麻谷氏のドローイングは格好よくて黒を基調とした線は勢いがある。彼は私の描いた絵を消し、その上に十字の線を引いた。私も負けじと、蓮の葉っぱを彼の黒い塊の上に描いた。個性の違いがふとしたはずみで調和する瞬間があり、結構品の良い絵ができたのは、どちらのセンスによるものだろう。
This work was created in collaboration with sculptor Hiroshi Asatani and I for a two-person exhibition at Kyoto Gallery Keifu in 2007.
Asatani’s drawings are cool and his black lines are vigorous. He erased my painting and drew crosshairs on it. I, not to be outdone, drew a lotus leaf on top of the black mass of his drawing. I wondered which of us had a better sense of style, and which of us was able to create a picture that was quite elegant.
